Top 10 Brands at the TGIF Market

We got a glimpse of the next generation of Thai fashion brands at last weekend's TGIF Market. Here are my favorites from the offline bazaar.

10. Chou Shoes Shop
Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge this store by it's Facebook and Instagram. A quick scroll and it's obvious Chou deals in knockoffs - Stylenanda, Valentino, Jeffrey Campbell. But at 650 per pair, who cares. Cutout pointy toe patent "leather" loafers that look like Jeffrey Campbell for a fraction of the price? In this case it makes sense to get the trend for cheap!

Offline: Shop at Siam Square

9. Isawan Bag
On the other end of the style-price spectrum is Isawan Bag. Launched in 2009 by Isawan Sutthinark, it's already been featured in Vogue Thailand. The newest bucket bag retails for up to 14,000 Baht. Chic styles, real leather, high quality and long lasting. If you want to invest in a nice bag that's about half the price of a Boyy bag then go for it.

Offline: Find Isawan at TuTTi, Market Place Thonglor

8. Yorata Brand
Are you super petite? No cellulite or love handles? First of all, I hate you. Second of all get your skinny ass to Yorata Brand and pick up some so cute as hell high waist swim suits with metallic and lace accents. You heard me, go.

7. Vanilla Headquarter
Carrying on tradition of whimsical lace that Rotsaniyom introduced so many years ago, Vanilla Headquarters has everything from crop tops, bra tops, t-shirt dresses and lace pants. Perfect paired with bleach blonde hair and round sunglasses.

6. Nobby Hobby
The brand owner was making the necklaces to order when I stopped by. Awesome statement necklaces in bright colored threads interwoven with metals and rhinestones. Perfect for wearing outside your collar.
Online: Facebook, Instagram

5. LookBook:)
Lookbook has built up it's brand among the teen to early twenty Thai girls with feminine colors, floaty chiffon and easy to wear shapes like A-line minis and button down shirts. It's a big hit with budget conscious girls who want that "Sunday brunching in Thonglor" look.

4. Pissella
Feminine monochrome with the occasional statement print. Fitted frocks with cutouts. Edgy asymmetrical shapes. New collections come out pretty often for a brand that sells almost entirely via Instagram.

3. Make Do and Mend Store
Such a joy to find this collection of cute vintage clothes. I ended up with two Hawaiian print shirts, a print kaftan and long sleeveless denim dress. Great curated collection of reasonably priced vintage!

2. SAP Accessories
Cute handbags in simple, classic shapes but with funky touches like hologram material, metallic shine or athletic looking net. Find your next 'wear-with-everthing' bag.

1. Pomelo www.pomelofashion.com
We're working super hard at Pomelo to bring you cool stuff all the time, and having a blast doing it! Pomelo isn't a Facebook or Instagram shop like most of the brands on this list. It doesn't have an offline shop either. But what it does have is an amazing website (recently redesigned so it's even cooler!) with customer service policies to rival any global brand. Every day new trendy pieces land on the site so bookmark now, thank me later.
